If you play with mods on PlayStation 5, you may notice that modded saves won't load while your console is offline. This can happen even if your mods have already finished downloading.
Why this happens
Please note that on PlayStation, an active internet connection is required to load modded saves. This is due to platform requirements regarding user-generated content, which includes mods.
This applies to mods you have already downloaded as well, and it isn't something mod.io or the game's developer is able to change.
What you can do
- Make sure your PS5 is connected to the internet before loading a modded save.
- If you're having trouble connecting, you can test your connection by going to Settings > Network > Connection Status > Test Internet Connection.
- You can also check the PlayStation Network Service Status page to see whether there are any outages.
- If you'd like to play while offline, you can still load saves that don't use mods.
